Do whales just swallow hundreds of gallons of sea water?How do they deal with taking in all that water when opening their mouth Pee it out?

So I'm really curious. When they feed by opening their mouth what happens with all those tons of water that's going into them? I can't imagine drinking sea water could be good for them.

    You can block stuff from going down your own throat by using the back of your tongue to stop it. They do the same.
