What is the point of life if all you want is money? Pursuit of money isn't a life. Money comes with living, doing what you love and are good at.

Why would you expect an engineer working for the federal government to earn more than middle class wages? Even private sector engineers typically only make it to the upper end of the middle class pay scale.

Middle class has a very wide range of incomes. There is nothing special about NASA's pay scale. They pay based on supply and demand just as other tech companies do.
