Why do women often end up marrying men they never even once considered dating when they were younger?

I often see women marrying guys who are the complete opposite of what they find attractive, or that anyone would find attractive. Guys who smell like rotten cheese, who never shave, shower 3 times a week, don't keep healthy, smoke, drink, etc.

money, mainly. or women grow up and learn that the guys they liked at school probably treated women pretty badly. so they go for the "goon" that is nicer to women and earns good money.
