What you make today is not as important as what you will be making five years from now. The job that has better longterm potential for income, promotion, training, etc. is better.

dollars per hour? $23 as contractor $16 as employee depends on benefits, self employment taxes my rule of thumb was a 1099 job needed to be at least 2x a W2 job nowadays, who knows?
