That's not an equation, it's an expression, and it's equal to x + 5. The only way that can be equal to 13x/15 is if x = -37.5

Is there an error in your notation? The equation you gave us definitely does not come out to 13x/15. 6x/2 = 3x So 3x - (2x - 5) = 3x - 2x + 5 = x + 5 There must be an error somewhere...
