What's the difference between being shy and introverted?

    You can still get by if you are the latter. I have both and the former won't let me do anything in life.

    A shy person is one who has difficulty relating to others whereas an introverted person is one who prefers to keep to himself or herself, but may or may not be shy.

    Being introverted is an innate tendency. Shyness is related to fear or timidity, and can be overcome. It is possible to be both introverted and shy.
