Is it true researchers in the life sciences will never read a paper that has an equation in it?

It is often said that biologists are terrified of numbers this is not true. Quite a number of biological disciplines require a lot of maths, e.g. ecology, evolution, genetics. Any research done is not really valid unless it is statistically analysed.

Never say never. Ecologists deal with mathematical equations a lot. So do geneticists. Many biologists use statistics to show that their results are unlikely to be due to chance.
