Im joining a lot of competitive clubs in high school. Will UCs like that?

They would rather see leadership positions in a few clubs, than to be in multiple clubs. And you GPA and SAt scores are the two most important factors.

They don't care, they want exam results not your hobbies. Times have changed.

To a small degree they will take approve of competitive clubs, but what they really pay attention to is membership in clubs that contribute in some way and actually do something as opposed to just competing.

No. That is age old fable that died in the 80s and 90s. Uni wants people who will 1. Graduate (high academic achievement), 2. Increase Diversity (meet the unwritten government quotas), 3. Earn money for the school by playing sports.
