Do being exposed to the sun too long cause brown spots without sunscreen?

Normally long exposure to the sun causes tanning of the skin, if you are photosensitive and not using sunscreen can cause such lesions but brown spots have many causes so its better visiting dermatologist for further management.

Yes that can cause sun spots or age spots. That can also cause skin cancer, which my grandmother died of. If you're going to be out side for long periods of time use the appropriate sunscreen (sweat and or waterproof) and re apply it regularly.

Probably cause sunburn but I use a high factor sun cream and I still get brown spots and a million freckles and I am 61 years old
