Normal? Or should I rush her back to the ER?
9 answers
My daughter fractured her fibula bone last week. I took her to the ER and they put a splint on her until she can get a cast. Her leg now has a horrible bruise and has swollen up and turned purple, almost blue. Is this normal?

Why has she not yet got a cast? It should be being checked by a doctor.

Yes it is normal with every break. The limb usually turns black and blue then yellow. She should be keeping it elevated.

Hard to tell without seeing it, some swelling and bruising is normal, but a problem with a major vein or artery could cost her the leg.
