Should teaching foreign languages in public schools be banned in America?

It should be compulsory, as it is in many countries. Even Britain now makes learning a foreign language compulsory in primary school from the age of 8 years upwards. And note that the law was passed under a Conservative government.

Surprised to know they teach foreign languages now, given how many Americans I meet expect the rest of the world to speak English.

Certainly not...it should be encouraged...otherwise only Navaho, Apache, Cheyenne etc would be taught.

No. If conservatism thinks intelligence and knowledge are a sin, then conservatism is worthless. Good ideologies do not survive on ignorance.
