a local map has a scale in which 3 cm represent 60 kilometers. what is the distance between two houses it on the map is the distance is 5.5cm?

    Scale of the map: 1 : 2,000,000 5. 5 cm represents 110 km.

It's a ratio. Whatever distance you measure on the map will be proportionally bigger on the ground. 5.5/3 = 1.833 (ie 5.5 cm is 1.833 times bigger than 3cm) Multiply 60 by 1.833 to find the distance on the ground 1.833 x 60 = 110 km

    3/60=20 so 20x5.5=110

    I suspect the OP can't multiply 5.5 x 20 or is too lazy. 5.5 x 20 = 110 km

Multiple the distance (5.5) by 3 which would equal the distance in km.

If 3 cm = 60 km, then 1 cm = 20 km You get this by dividing the 60 by 3 5.5 X 20 km will give you the answer

    If 3cm = 60km then 1cm = 20km (60 ÷3) 5.5 x 20 = your answer Certainly you can find it after being shown what to do.
