Why are barometers so hard to find?

I cannot put one of those weather station LCD displays outside or they will ruin, as far as I understand they are made for indoors. I was going to buy a barometer to put outside, but they aren't easy to come by and are expensive. any suggestions?

WHY do you need one OUTSIDE? A barometer is used to sense atmospheric pressure. Pressure is the same indoors or out.

Those weather stations with LCD displays have an outside instrument and the display stays inside with a wireless connection, mine was under $100, with indoor/outdoor temp,and relative humidity, barometric pressure and wind speed. Not that expensive is it?

An AcuRite Weather station on the outside and the monitor on the inside of the house.(one example below) You don't need any liquid devices to pollute the environment, especially mercury. Good luck.
