If you mean a = (2-7b)/(b-5) then b = (5a+2)/(a+7)

2-7b —— which on a single line is written (2-7b) / (b-5) b-5 a = (2-7b) / (b-5) a(b-5) = 2 - 7b ab - 5a = 2 - 7b 7b + ab = 2 + 5a b(7 + a) = 2 + 5a b = (2 + 5a)/(7 + a) 2 + 5a ——— = b 7 + a

. a = (2 - 7b)/(b - 5) a(b - 5) = 2 - 7b ab - 5a = 2 - 7b ab + 7b = 5a + 2 b(a + 7) = 5a + 2 b = (5a + 2)/(a + 7) ————————

Is that a=(2-7b)/(b-5)?

a = 2 - 7b/b - 5 a = 2 - 7 - 5 a = -10, for b ≠ 0 You must have meant something other than what you wrote. Consider reviewing the order of operations and posting the question again, with the necessary edits.
