Nuclear ballistic missiles do not have enough fuel to escape the Earth's gravitational field. They would all come back down.

They'd be turned into vapor and then atomic particles. They'd no explode as a nuke explosion requires specific events to happen. None of which would happen as those weps were vaporized.
