I saw this on my butterfly bush in northern California today. What is it? Had long beak like a hummingbird, body like a bee.?

It is in fact a hummingbird moth, Hemaris diffinis species. They mimic bees too avoid predation. That beak is their proboscis that coils up in flight. Nice find. https://bugguide.net/node/view/414739

As someone else stated I believe that it is indeed a hummingbird moth. The quality of the photo is not very good but the V-shaped antenna seems pretty clear.
