Most of us will be at least a bit overweight (or at least weigh more than when we were young) in old age, so absolutely. Being very underweight actually is thought to be even WORSE for longevity but much fewer people are underweight

Yes. My grandma's been fat her whole life and she's 89. Her knees and hips aren't worth a damn, though, and she's diabetic.
