Release is Midnight 21st June. Would that be on the Wednesday (20th) or Thursday (21st) at 12:00am?

In my experience in Britain it would be the minute after 11.59 pm on 21st. I.e. one minute before 00.01 on 22nd. Americans express dates differently from most other countries, so await answers from the USA if your product will be released there.
