Not really. Some autistic people who wouldn't score very high on iq tests are incredible at math. Its just the way your mind works.

Define "higher" and define "advanced". It makes a difference.

Disagree. IQ tests use general knowledge information. A person can excel at math but suffer in English and thus score low on an IQ test.

Disagree. Smart people aren't necessarily smart with everything. A smart person might be clever at something else and crap or just average at math.

not true at all I know of several brilliant mathematicians who are not bright at all in other fields

imo alot of math as taught in a classroom is memory of method .. so someone with a relatively average iq but a photographic memory could excel at it .. as far as practical application now, thats where the iq will come into play ..
