What's cancer like? not just the illness but all the treatment and hospital visits? pleasant or agonising?

I can't speak for everyone, but I had a swell time. Asking at Yahoo Answers is not research. Read books by people who have been through it. One I read to help prepare myself was Evan Handler's "My Time on Fire." That should tell you how pleasant it is.
