One meal consists of 1 appetizer, 1 main course, and 1 desert. By the multiplication rule, 5*10*7 = 350 different possible meals Or similarly using the permutation function: 5P1 * 10P1 * 7P1 = 350

    Ten

five x ten x seven = 350 different meals. That is assuming you can only have one appetizer, one main course and one desert. It also assumes you must have one of each. If you can have more than one then you can have 22 x 21 x 20 x 19 x 18 .....down to 1.

Multiply your choices and that's the number of possible combinations you can create: 5 * 10 * 7 = 350
