It is not true that we don't have tariffs or that we haven't had tariffs for decades.The debate seems to be how we will change the tariff laws and what the ramifications will be.

Liberals don't think that. Trump ran as a great negotiator. Unilaterally imposing high tariffs isn't a sign of great negotiating skills.

Trump started this by increasing tariffs. They are the ones fighting back against moves initiated by the US. Say good bye to whatever small disposable income the tax cut gave you. It will be eaten up and more by increased prices.

They don't. Liberals are not being critical because America isn't reacting to other nations placing tarriffs. Other countries are reacting to America placing tarriffs. Liberals knew Trump's misguided attempts to MAGA would just sour our economy.
