What is the difference really between "Patronizing" and "Condescending"?

If one is patronizing, s/he is tolerant, but one who is condescending looks down on the other person or considers her/him inferior on some aspect.

condescending: "I'm better than you" patronising: "I'm making these decisions for you"

None. Condescending tells others they are inferior. Patronizing tells others that you are superior.

When you patronize someone, you are being condescending while taking on an air of being nice. You're trying to seem kind or helpful but are doing so in a manner that betrays that you think you're superior.
