My friend was prescribed 9000iu of vitamin d3 daily for 7 weeks, is this a dangerous dose to take?

I ve done research online and was wondering if he should carry on, I m asking on behalf of him as 9000iu daily is said to be overdose, any advice, should he carry on with it?

My 'D' was just a bit low, so doc has me taking -1- pill of 10,000iu a week.....

I know people that are on 50,000 iU per day as they were found to be severely deficient. There's nothing unusual about that dose for a limited period of time.
