People sometimes feel sorry for people who get hooked on drugs. Seems to me that the druggies had a choice in the matter. The feeling they got from taking drugs was something they wanted more of, they craved that feeling, more than life itself.

Because junkies do shitty jobs without rebelling. Why do you think the trenches of WW1 were supplied with plenty of rum and tobacco? Why are so many prostitutes hooked on cocaine or heroin?
