    Yes, they don't want people knowing about ANY kind of life-----Some fear it would disturb religious people and cause disruption in society.---An old, mistaken idea, to be sure, but many Scientists believe that myth would still be true today.

    NASA only launches things. It doesn't make discoveries. So what are you talking about?

    No. They have no reason to hide discoveries. They would get a big increase in funding if they announced something new and amazing that requires further study. The discovery of life on Mars or elsewhere is an example.

    No. NASA does normally allow Principal Investigators on its studies an exclusive on data, usually for one year, but nothing is otherwise held back.

    Probably, but nothing actually important. Government agencies tend only to hide things that make them look bad.

    Nope. NASA doesn't control the world of astronomy. there are plenty of other agencies that can check, and verify findings that NASA, or any science group publishes. And if something is held secret, usually it can be independently discovered.

    No. How many people are involved in Space Exploration?? Two People can't keep a Secret, how do you expect hundreds or even thousands of people to keep a secret?
