It could mean that you are a good friend or it could mean that you are thick as a brick. i.e. stupid.

The answer from @Chris Ancor is exactly right, but calling someone a 'brick' is quite old-fashioned these days. You used to see it in children's stories in the mid 20th century but I don't think I've seen it much, if at all, since about 1970.
