Why doesn't gravity pull a person's belly down? Why does it stick out instead?

You know how guys will have big potbellies, well why do they stick straight out instead of flopping down? Shouldn't gravity pull them down?

    If you see someone with a large belly and a tight belt, you will see some the belly hanging over the belt. The muscles in that area prevent the belly from falling to the ground

    It will pull down eventually, your body just has enough energy to keep it close to your body for safety reasons
