To some degree, but you have a markedly less chance for your lungs even to DEVELOP properly if you started smoking as a teen.

Only so much. My having type 1 Diabetes, ALL doctors say to never expect any of my lungs to come back. And for normal people, you only recover about a 1/3 the loss.
