can only absorb it. Or rather, break the flow.

A resistor cannot supply power. It can only dissipate power as heat.

Sure. Apply power to the resistor and it will emit heat, thus supplying power as heat. Resistors do supply power as Johnson noise, but can't be practically harvested.
