Is it possible that our universe could implode, returning our universe to it's original state before the Big Bang?

Not only possible, it's probable. A period of expansion, followed by a period of collapse, and repeat into infinity.

That is one of two possibilities. it will either expand forever or collapse to a point. Current observations point to expanding forever, but new discoveries might change that prediction.
