Do they usually pick out only "slightly above average looking" news anchors to report the news? why?

none really look "beautiful" or "extremely handsome"? most are just slightly above average? or what? why?

I think thats just because the general public is average looking

I have seen plenty of ugly news reporters but they were well groomed that's what they are looking for.
