Why wont boiling permanently hard water leave behind a residue?

if water containing NaCl is boiled, it would leave behind a residue, right? Permanent hardness is caused by things like calcium chloride, so why doesn t boiling water containing calcium chloride leave behind a residue?

    Of course it does. Obviously, your Mom cleans up the bathroom for you.

    It always has left such residues in my experience. Dissolved solids will not evaporate when boiling water. They are not sufficiently volatile.
