That is something you should be asking a medical professional, not some random strangers on what amounts to an internet based bulletin board. If your father is that ill, he needs more than just medicinal marijuana. His doctor will be the best source of information since he or she will be the ONLY person with full knowledge of your father's past and current health history. NO one can simply guess.

Don't know why not? At 82, I utilize cannabis cookies to help sleep. The edibles are more potent than the stuff we smoked years ago. Commercially available cannabis products are of verifiable strength, and purity. Unlike the stuff from baggies that we used to smoke.
