How long for bees to starve to death?

How long for bees to starve to death?

so i have reason to believe a hole where bees are seen going in and out of hosts a hive and it somehow is connected to the ac vent in the home, due to 2 bees coming out of the vent within 5 min of each other. If i block the hole how long until the bees die off? please help
