We have a right triangle with one side 5 miles and the other 10 miles. The side with 10 miles is the "trail," and the "inside" of the triangle as the "woods." So the hypotenuse is the sqrt of 125. I know we need to minimize the time. So distance = rate*time, or time = distance/rate....
