The cost for spending n nights is $C(n)=(457/3)n n=1=> $C(1)=457/3=$152.33. which should be shared with the friend, so you should pay $152.33/2=$76.17.

3 nights at $457 1 night $457/3 = $152.33 You pay half that night: 152.33/2 = 76.17 (rounded up)

There are 3 + 1 = 4 person-nights. 457/4 = 114.25 You spend 114.25 * 1 = $114.25 You friend spends 114.25 * 3 = $342.75
