Ohhhh so 21st century means 2000’s, 20th century means 1900’s, is that right?

I always thought we were in the 20th century because ‘21st century’ was a future term. So a friend told me you have to take the first two digits of the year and add 1 to get the century.

not quite, 21st century is the years 2001 through 2100, just like number 36 is not part of the 4th dozen

Most don’t understand the first century was from year 1 to 99ad. Figure it out from that date.
