I think, if the moon were orbiting the sun, it would qualify as a planet (big enough to impose round form through gravity) rather than a dwarf planet or asteroid, but that isn't really the question. The moon is a moon. It is not a star or a planet.

Having many years experience at translating students' gibberish in to English, I think you are asking is the Moon a star or a planet. It is neither. It is the only natural satellite that orbits the Earth.

A planet is not a star, the moon is not a planet or a star. Just like a horse is not a cow, a giraffe is not a horse or a cow.

The moon is technically an asteroid that has entered the Earth's orbital pull. Other planets in the solar system have moons of their own, such as Mars, which has two, called Phobos and Deimos.

It’s a moon. By definition, a moon is a natural body that orbits a planet, so it’s neither a planet nor a star.
