From what I understand, you are not supposed to spend more than 1/3 of your finances for rent... So in this case it would come out to be roughly $513 per month.

Going by the assumption that you should be paying about 25% of your monthly income on rent, the $20,504 annual pay turns into : 20504 / 12 = $1708.67 monthly So 25% of that works out to be: 1708.67 / 4 = $427.17 (Answer D is the closest)

That would depend on what you're nominating as the maximum percentage of a person's salary they should pay on rent. If you think it's 25% the answer is D

Technically, she can afford to pay up to 1/12th of 20504 each month. Is there a general guideline you were given, such as, "No more than 30% of your income should go towards housing"?
