Hello english teachers, which sentence is correct:)?
9 answers
She is a smart and determined person. She is a smart and a determined person. She is smart and determined person. I am so bloody confused..

You can use any of them. All correct grammatically. If you use the last one, you would say, "she is smart and determined". Drop the "person".

Only the last one is wrong. The first one would probably be the generally used form, but some native speakers would use the second form. Why do you need to use a swear word in a technical enquiry about the use of language?

She is so smart and such a determined person...... That kind of throws the cat among the pigeons, don't ya think? ;-) Look! Grammar IS FLEXIBLE, if it isn't for some that's fine, we all have our cross's to bear. ;-)

Neither. It should be: "Hello, English teachers. Which sentence is correct?" "She is a smart and determined person" is correct. "She is a smart and a determined person" isn't grammatically wrong, but it doesn't sound natural.

The third is definitely wrong. But you COULD say 'She is smart and determined'. Without 'person'. The second is not wrong, but is extremely emphatic: fine if that's the impression you want to give.. Only the first is standard and normal.

You are a smart, determined person with an interesting, thoughtful question. I suggest you keep going on with your delightful ways, pour yourself a cool, refreshing drink and forget your determiners. No-one cares.

The first one is best. The 'a' will apply to both of the adjectives ('smart' and 'determined') in that situation (where they are both modifying one noun). The second one is still correct, though.
