There is an old vacant building that is being torn down near me, and one day I walked by it and I saw a worker with a hose spraying water on the building while an excavator was tearing it down. Never seen this before and I am just curious

The dust from various building materials can be very hazardous to your lungs. Concrete dust is particularly dangerous. Spraying water on the materials as they are broken reduces the amount of dust released into the air.
