A small island in the Pacific was discovered by a satellite. It is named Landsat Island, after the satellite.

Yes. They discovered India. Before we realised the world was round, everyone thought that America was India, hence the misnomer for Native Americans.

There might have been a few small islands in the Pacific or something, but safe to say the seas were pretty well mapped 100's of years ago. Interesting question though.
