How did you get lightning in your car?? You are fairly safe unless it is a plastic car, like a Honda or a Corvette.

Today, yes. It is warm and sunny and they are not predicting any storms for at least a week so you should be pretty safe.

Yes. I have seen lightning strike only a yard away from a car - the only damage was to the ears of the people in the car. Lightning looks for the easiest path to earth, and that is not usually through rubber tyres.
