If you join the USMC to become a scout sniper do you still go through normal USMC boot camp?

Shooting is a prerequisite in the Corps, every Marine is a rifleman. Even the cook on kitchen patrol. You hand him a rifle and he is capable of putting lead on steel at five hundred yards.

You have to actually be in the USMC for YEARS before you can even ask for permission to apply for sniper school.

Every Marine goes through boot camp with the exception of musicians in the President's Own Marine Band.

Yes, specialisation is selected only when you pass basic training. Semper Fi dude.

First you have to BE a Marine meaning make it through boot camp--then you can become a sniper after much training.

Yes. EVERYONE gets that training.
