A refrigerator is tipped against a vertical wall so it can be serviced. It makes an angle of 70 degrees with the horizontal floor. How high is point A above the floor?

Ans. the height of A from the ground= sin(20*)+2sin(70*)= 2.2214 m approximately.

The problem says 7°, not 70°. I'll assume that's a typo. You have right triangles at the top and to the side of the refrigerator. Height of A = 2sin(70°) + 1sin(20°) ≅ 2.22 m

Here's a hint. The floor contains 180 degrees. All interior angles of the fridge are 90 degrees. The fridge is a rectangle so opposite sides are equal and parallel. Would finding the diagonal be helpful?

Try that. sin(70) = x/2 and cos(70) = y/1 which would be 1.88 + 0.34 = 2.22m above the floor. You're welcome.
