Why don't people understand suicide? Suicide is freedom from torment., so is suicide prevention cruel and selfish?

If you kill yourself, all your loved ones will be hurt more than you were hurting. -To which most people would l likely say "I don't have any loved ones, that's why I'm killing myself."

They don't understand because no one they were close to committed suicide. Also most people can't relate to suffering mental or psychical pain 24/7.
