Is it ethical to stop helping downtrodden and vulnerable people so that our species can grow stronger by weeding out the weakest links?

1) Eugenics hasn't been found to be effective. 2) Weakest, how? Hawking has already been mentioned. How about Einstein? 3) You are ignoring social evolution. Natural selection works on a population, not on individuals. Back to biology class.
